Day 2 The day begins with an Italian breakfast before arriving in Matera, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its “Sassi”. Enjoy a special adventure in the heart of Matera, a city rich in history and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The day begins with a guided tour of the evocative Sassi, where you will immerse yourself in the millennial history of this fascinating city carved into the rock. Exploring the ancient stone dwellings, you will discover hidden and surprising corners, including the fascinating underground world, as famous as it is enigmatic. Afterwards, a refined lunch awaits you in one of the city's most iconic restaurants. Immersed in a setting that is unique in the world, you can savour the typical dishes of Lucanian cuisine, which celebrates the authentic flavours of the region. Day 3 On the morning of the third day, the train arrives in Sulmona. Board a historic train to Pescocostanzo and explore its ancient streets full of history and charm. In the afternoon, board the train again for the return journey to Rome Ostiense.
